Application
Application Area

KH-1861 is an alicyclic epoxy silane with three hydrolyzable alkoxy groups (ethoxy groups) in its molecular structure. This dual reaction activity enables it to enhance the bonding, adhesion and compatibility between inorganic materials (glass, metal, filler) and organic polymers (thermosetting resins, plastics, elastomers), thereby improving the resin. The mechanical properties of matrix composites or the adhesion strength and water resistance of resin coatings are improved. In different applications, it can be used as coupling agent, adhesion promoter, curing agent, surface modifier of pigments and fillers, etc.

Main Uses

  1. Used as additive or preparation of primer for polyurethane, silicone, epoxy, phenolic, acrylic acid, polysulfide, urea-formaldehyde and other coatings, inks, adhesives and sealants to improve the adhesion, corrosion resistance, weatherability, boiling resistance and scrubbing resistance of resin coatings, prolong the service life, and improve the dispersion and binding of pigments and fillers in resin phase. The special structure of alicyclic epoxy and the formation of high-strength chemical bonds on unclean surfaces, even on oily metal surfaces, can improve the adhesion of the adhesives on the above surfaces. At the same time, the products have excellent heat resistance and electrical insulation properties.

  2. Mineral fillers or glass fiber filled plastics (PBT, nylon, etc.), rubber, resin (epoxy, etc.) are used to improve the dispersion and bonding of fillers and fibers in the resin phase, and enhance the mechanical strength of products.

  3. Surface treatment of inorganic mineral pigments and fillers (such as silicon powder, etc.), flame retardants (such as magnesium hydroxide) and glass fibers is used to improve their dispersion, compatibility, adhesion and enhancement effect in resin phase.
